What happens after I have signed up?

When you have become a part of our playtest group, you will start receiving emails for playtests and other user tests. The frequency of these emails differ depending on your player profile. These emails include a survey to find out if you match the intended player for the specific playtest.

What’s in it for me?

Besides getting a sneak peak into games in early stages, you receive tokens as a reward. The tokens can be redeemed for Paradox games on your playtest profile page. 

1 token = 1 game/DLC

Who are you looking for?

It could be anyone! We have specific target groups for every playtest and they vary depending on what we want to find out. It doesn’t matter if you are a pro-gamer, a casual gamer, or sometimes even a gamer at all. If you are scheduled for a playtest it means we want your opinion!

Do I have to go to Stockholm to participate?

No! The majority of our user tests are done remotely, so you will be participating from your own home. This of course means that a stable network connection is very important!

Is playtesting a job?

No. Playtest sessions are not considered employment and do not open up to any form of employment. For job openings go to our Career website.

Can I log in using my Paradoxplaza account?

Unfortunately not. This is a separate platform. We are looking into it for the future though!

How do I delete my Paradox playtest account?

Click on “Update Your Profile” and choose “Delete My Profile”.

Playtest

This is our most common type of test. You play the game for a certain amount of time, sometimes asked to perform specific tasks to progress. There is a Paradox researcher or moderator there to guide you as well. At the end of a playtest session there is an interview where the researcher asks you questions about your experience with the game.

A playtest session can be as short as 1 hour, or as long as 4 hours. Sometimes we do extended playtests, where you are playing a game for 1-2 weeks at your own leisure.

Focus Group

A focus group is a discussion with other players, moderated by a Paradox user researcher. Sometimes you are shown assets from the game.

Focus groups are usually 60-90 minutes long.

1-on-1 interviews

A Paradox user researcher asks you questions about your opinions, behaviours, experiences etc. Sometimes you are shown assets from the game.

The sessions are usually 30-60 min.
